Crab Curry...



Ingredients



2 lbs crab, cleaned and shell removed
2 large onions, chopped
2 tsp ginger garlic paste (adrak lassan)
2 tomatoes, chopped
½ tsp turmeric (haldi)
½ tsp red chili powder (laal mirch)
1 tsp coriander/cumin powder (dhanya zeera)
salt to taste
2 TBS besan (gram flour) or all-purpose flour
½ tsp garam masala
2 pieces each cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom
½ tsp cumin seeds (zeera)
4 TBS oil
2 tsp lemon juice



cilantro (harra dhanya, coriander leaves, kothmir) chopped


Method:

Heat oil in a large pan. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves , and cardamom. Let splutter 30 seconds. Add onions and cook for about 5 minutes. Add ginger garlic paste and cook about 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and fry for 5 minutes. Add all the powdered spices and fry for 2 minutes. Add crab and fry for 5 minutes. Add 4 to 5 cups of water and boil for 30 to 40 minutes.

Meanwhile take the besan (or all-purpose flour) and mix with a little water to make a thin paste. After boiling the crab for 30 – 40 minutes, add the paste, and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with rice or paratha.
