Hot Chocolate...



Here's something perfect to enjoy during cold winter mornings.
This quantity serves 4 mugs.

Ingredients


1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white/brown sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream (optional)
1/2 cup heavy cream whipped.


Directions


Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt and add boiling water to it.
Bring this mixture to a low boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and pour into mugs. Since I have used full cream milk so I didn't add additional cream but you can add the cream to the mugs of cocoa and cool it to drinking temperature.
Top with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate flakes over it and serve hot
